Most of my posts don’t have too many pictures in them, but this one has a fair few….I was thinking today about logos and the certifications behind them (or vice versa depending on how you look at it).  What makes a good logo?  What logos do people most often use?  I’ll take some of my certifications and we’ll look at the logos.

CCNA…quite old fashioned – in fact Cisco are looking at revamping these in the very near future.  Albeit basic though, being a CCNA or Cisco Certified anything, pretty much speaks for itself, who needs a logo :)

MCTS…Not too bad.  A new one of the Microsoft certifications.  The old days used to be all MCP and MCSE logos, but now there is a difference in the Microsoft realm.  Quite basic in terms of colours and fonts, but as well as basic, it is clean and gets the point across.

MCT…again like above, basic but to the point.  Trainer sands out a bit more than the other logos of my Microsoft certifications do, but then again it is a simple 7 letter word without any pizzaz around it.

The MCP.  The original.  Blue and white, and goes really well on business card, however it really isn’t the certification anymore.

CNA – I like this one quite a bit, but Novell unfortunately didn’t go very far, so it isn’t one you use very often.  Again, a nice logo to put on a business card and well designed (I like the simple N from the Novell logo) but a CNA isn’t going to do you too much these days…

The A+ logo.  Basic yet well refined.  Again, another certification you don’t really talk much about on the street, but quite a crafty little logo.

The ACI.  Now that Altiris is part of Symantec, this logo is a bit busy, but I’ve always liked the Altiris fonts.  This one says quite a bit in a little area – lots of words – little amounts of pictures, but all in all an overall good logo.

The ACE – again as above, like the font, just a bit of a busy logo.

Anyways, I’m sure there are other logos we could go over and look at, but all in all, what’s in a logo?  Which logos do you like best what makes it a good logo and what does it go good on or do you like using it?
