Exchange 2010 Beta

Looking at that title, I did a bit of a double take as last year seemed like it was the year we had a Y2K problem, but nope, its 2009 today.  Exchange 2010 is now available for testers in Beta 1’s release.  Obviously it’s still early days and there will be more changes no doubt (the size of the file is only 300 MB), but for those who want to get the technical jumpstart, here’s a few links:

27 more updates before RC…

The folks in Redmond have been feverishly busy in preparation for the Release Candidate of Windows 7 and recently we brought you news of the first set of changes that the folks of W7 Engineering made.  Well, last Friday, March 13 they brought us more good news (who said Friday the 13th was a bad day) about further changes to be made to W7 before the RC is released in the wild.  Some of the more interesting ones…

  • Cutting down 400 milliseconds from startup and shutdown sounds to make it even faster!
  • 50% less of an application installation & support partition (in Beta it was 200MB, now it will be 100MB)
  • Pagefile reduction size
  • Improved Driver Support
  • Further enhancements to the superbar and its pinning options

….and more and more and more

To read more, head on over to the W7 Engineering Team’s post.
