About Me

227 Volts is my little place on the internet to write about interesting things I find, see, or want the world to know about. I think of it as my online diary. A lot of people ask me, “Why 227 Volts”? Well, my favorite number is 27 and at the time I registered the domain, I was living in the UK where electricity is 220 Volts, so my brain merged the two and 227 Volts came about. Here I am almost 20 years later using the same domain!

When I was young, I was lucky enough to be immersed in computing and my best friend was Carmen Sandiego. The computer I got to learn on was the Tandy followed by the Apple. Over the years I’ve got to learn more and more as I go and I’ve also been fortunate enough to be able to mix work with pleasure. What does that mean you ask? I’m a computer engineer and firefighter and get to program computers for fire departments around the world!

Stay tuned for more information as well as updates that hopefully spark your interest!
